ADANA - Agit Tufan (27) who is on hunger strike for 53 days, is a 'boy who throws stones'. Tufan who had been through the torture in Pozantı Youth Detention Center, said 'We will not end our hunger strike until we die' from Bafra Type T Prison he is currently being kept at.
Agit Tufan was arrested in 2007 with the accusation of 'Throwing stones to the police'. Tufan who was sent to Pozantı Youth Detention Center was tortured and maltreated for 2 and a half years.Tufan who was released from the center in 2010 with a non-prosecution decision , was arrested again a year later and sentenced to 22 years in prison.
Tufan who has been on hunger strike since March 1, said to his family he spoke on the phone:"I am on hunger strike since March 1. Our vitamins are not being given. We are trying to consume liquids. Our friends have lost a great deal of weight. Our friends from the first group is in critical condition. They are spitting blood. We are suffering from naussea, dizziness, headaches, staggers, insomnia and vomiting. Mother, stand up! We will be on hunger strike as long as the isolation continues on our leader. We will not give up until we die. You should go out be our voices, you must stand up!"
Mother Tufan who stated that she was not able to see her son in 2 years, said her husband went to see him in the previous months and the gendermerie didn't allow him inside claiming his ID Card is old. Mother Tufan who stated that her son has been subjected to torture for 2 years and a half in Pozantı, demanded that the demands of her son and the prisoners to be met immediately.
