Kaya on hunger strike: We are ready for paying any price until the isolation ends

DİYARBAKIR- Rıdvan Kaya who has been on a hunger strike in Dİyarbakır Type D Closed Prison for 57 days, stating that they are very determined, said: "We will continue our hunger strike until we smash that isolation. We are aware of the probable outcomes and ready to pay the price, what ever the price is." 

The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven who demands the termination of the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is continuing in its 95th day.
 
Nasır Yağız's hunger strike he started with the same demand in Hewlêr is in its 82nd day, the hunger strikes in Strasburg and Galler is in their 56th day. The hunger strike of the political prisoners in different prisons is in their 57th day.
 
Rıdvan Kaya (28), one of the 300 hunger strikers in prisons,is a prisoner in Diyarbakır Type D Closed Prison since January 2017. Kaya told about their demands and his health status in a letter he sent from the prison.
 
Kaya who stated that the demand of the termination of the isolation on Öcalan is a very humane and moral demand, said:"This is an important situation for not only the Kurdish  people but all people with conscience. Breaking this isolation means smashing the fascism and lead the way to freedom.If there is oppression, torture, cruelty on the society, it is connected to the isolation on Leader Apo.To approach isolation as it is normalized, to ignore it means giving up on being a human being.This must be our only agenda.
 
Kaya who stated that the hunger strikes started in the prisons from time to time aimed to secure the health and security conditions of Öcalan, said: "two meetings occured in 2012 and 2016 with this purpose but nothing have changed. The aggravated isolation continued.The last meeting was carried out to stall and decieve our people. But our determination continues. We will continue our hunger strike until we break the isolation.We are aware of the probable outcomes and we are ready to pay any price."
 
Kaya who has been on a hunger strike for 57 days said he is experiencing headaches, stomatitis and hemorrhage, sensitivity to sounds and light. Kaya who underlined that no matter how dire their health status gets their only agenda is the isolation, said: "We are getting stronger by the day. Our only agenda is the health and security conditions of our leader. Our health problems will not constitude an impediment for our action. 
 
Kaya who stated that breaking this isolation is a moral and humane responsibility, said everyone must be included in their own way. Kaya finished his letters by saying: "Not everyone can carry out the process of a hunger strike but we can do something. To act before its too late is a moral responsibility. If we want an honourable and a free life, we must end this isolation and smash fascism.We salut everyone in this hunger strike. We salut Leyla Güven. We share our faith and determination for victory."
