DİYARBAKIR-  As the existing laws is not  being applied properly , İHD manager Ercan Yılmaz reminds that hundreds of children are staying in prisons together with their mothers. Ercan Yılmaz called on the political parties and the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission to produce a solution for children who were subjected to the same rights violations as adults.

 

While it’s been announced by Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül that as of November 16, 2018 260 thousand 144 people are jailed in prisons that usually come up with violation of rights, according to Human’s Rights Association (İHD) report 743 children are imprisoned with their mothers. According to the report published by The United Nations (UN) Human Rights High Commission on March 2018,it is said to be worrying that women about to give birth and women who just gave birth are being arrested and about 600 women are imprisoned with their babies.
