DİYARBAKIR- Giyasettin Şehir, who deemed worthy of the award Antalya Golden Orange with his film “The Walk (Meş)", got arrested with the allaged crime of being a member of an illegal organisation.
 
Giyasettin Şehir was sent to the court for arrest after an interrogation at the general directorate of security with the alleged crime of being a member of an illegal organisation after a police raid to his home on 26th of september. He was arrested with the same charge and sent to Diyarbakır type D Prison.
 
Giyasettin Şehir was deemed worthy to the award of Best artistic director with his film The Walk.
 
Şehir, who educated hundreds of students in Dicle Fırat Culture Center on cinema, theater and dance for years also had helped the center’s foundation.
