İZMİR - YDG stated that their 17-year-old member, Ceren Ağaç, could not be found after she was detained and asked where Ağaç was.

New Democrat Youth (YDG) held a press conference regarding the detention of 17-year-old member Ceren AĞaç on February 21 at Human Rights Association (İHD) İzmir Branch. Making a statement, YDG member Yudum Kılıç stated that her friends who gathered to draw attention to March 8 International Women's Day were beaten and detained by the police and that they were subjected to psychological torture during the detention process.

HER FAMILY KEPT US IN THE DARK

Kılıç said that her two female friends who were taken into custody were released after the procedures at the police station, but 17-year-old Ceren Ağaç was taken to the children's branch. Kılıç said, “It was said that she would be released when her family arrived because she is under the age of 18, but with the cooperation of the family and the police, the lawyers and us were not informed about the condition of our friend. Despite all our efforts, we were prevented from obtaining information about our friend. We don't know what happened to our friend because of the information pollution created continuously and deliberately.”

"WHERE IS CEREN AĞAÇ?"

Kılıç said, "What is done to our friend is form of the oppression that the patriarchal system imposes on all women. Raising the women's struggle against all their oppression and prevention efforts, we once again ask where and how our friend Ceren Ağaç is, and we will not stop asking until we get news. Where is Ceren Ağaç?”
