The cross-border military operation launched by Turkey on April 23 against the Federated Kurdistan Region continues. At least 600 villages were evacuated and the cut trees were sold to Turkey in the operation that has been going on for about two months. While the reactions against the forced migration and the forest being cut grows, KDP's involvement in line with Turkey further escaleted the tension. Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz evaluated the attitude of the KDP and the developments in the region. Underlining that Turkey aims to settle in the areas it established bases permanently, Aydeniz told that the extensive operations against the Kurds aims to annihilate the Kurds. Aydeniz pointed out that they wanted to update the Treaty of Lausanne, which caused the Kurds to be ignored and denied.

 

A WAR AMONGS KURDS

 

Stating that the KDP's participation in the operations hinders the gains of the Kurds and that they see them as a structure that does not "think about Kurdistan", Aydeniz said, "Turkey suppressed all the rebellions launched for the rights and gains of the Kurdish people, such as Sheikh Said, Ağrı and Dersim, with collaborators. Despite all the special war policies and methods for the last 40 years, Turkey wasn't able to reach its goal. Turkey's aim at this point is a war between the Kurds. It wants to eliminate all the gains of the Kurds. KDP is the gendermerie of Turkey. Turkey is trying to get the Kurds kill the Kurds by the hand of the KDP."

 

TURKEY IS LOOKING FOR AN OUT

 

Stating that Turkey which is stuck in every sense, is looking for an out by the hands of the KDP, Aydeniz said: "Turkey is trying to get out of this situation by making Kurds kill other Kurds. Turkey entered the South Kurdistan for its plan to regain the territory of the National Oath. This is what it means when MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli says the licence plate numbers of Mosul and Kirkuk are 81, 82 and 83. It is clear that the war today is not against the PKK alone. Evaluating the political genocide operaitons against the Kurds, the trustees, the isolation, the invasion in Rojava, Efrin and Gire Spi, the changing of the demography, the referendum in 2017 together, we see clearly that it is not just the PKK Turkey is fighting against. Today, the war is a process of liquidation of the free Kurd with the support of hegemonic powers. An all-out war has been declared to the whole of Kurdistan."

 

CALL FOR DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL ALLIANCE

  

Reminding that the delegations going to the region to stop the operation were blocked by the KDP, Aydeniz warned that in the event of a possible conflict between the KDP and the PKK, the gains of the Kurdish people would go back another hundred years. Emphasizing that the Kurdish people should take a stand against this situation, Aydeniz said, "The Kurds should not remain silent in the face of this situation. The Kurds have paid a huge price for 40 years. The Kurds must come together in a democratic national alliance to protect and expand Kurdish gains or it will go back another hundred years."

 

ONE WORD OF ÖCALAN WILL BE BINDING FOR ALL SEGMENTS OF SOCIETY

 

Underlining that the cross-border operations are also a result of the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Aydeniz said: “They know very well that Mr. Abdullah Öcalan's discourse in this process will bind all segments of society. That's why Turkey insists on the isolation. Turkey opens the gates of İmralı when it's in its interest. Today, Turkey needs a war among Kurds, this is why they insist on the isolation.  They know very well that with a word from Öcalan, everyone will take a stance and act accordingly. The Kurdish people have now come to a crossroads. This crossroad can be overcomed only by breaking the isolation."
