ANKARA - HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, who made a statement regarding the law suit filed against the HDP for closure of the party and Gergerlioğlu who was stripped of his status as MP said: "Closing HDP is a blow against democracy."

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar made a written statement regarding the lawsuit filed at the Constitutional Court (AYM) for the closure of the party and the dismissal of HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu. The statement reads, "Closing HDP is a blow against democracy. HDP is not only a party but an idea. There are millions of people around this idea. They will claim their political will and their futures.The HDP closure case is a new blow to democracy. On the day when Kocaeli deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu was dismissed as a result of the political calculations of the government and the violation of the law, the Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a closure case against our party."

A GIFT TO MHP

The closure case against our party is a heavy blow to the democracy and law of the country. This government has made its mark in history as a putschist administration. With the closure case, the AKP gave a congress gift to the MHP through the judiciary, and the prosecutors acted on political orders.

ELIMINATION OF DEMOCRATIC POLITICS

What happened also shows the deep helplessness of the AKP-MHP bloc. They are trying to eliminate HDP from the democratic politics because they can't dominate it in the politics. HDP  HDP is not only a party but an idea. There are millions of people around this idea. They will claim their political will and their futures.

WE WILL NEVER SUBMIT TO AKP

The AKP-MHP government, on the other hand, has lost its democratic legitimacy and is trying to survive with force and pressure.The AKP-MHP government should know very well that whatever it does, we will never bow down, we will not kneel and never make concessions from democratic politics, we will continue our democratic resistance determindly.
