ANKARA - A summary was prepared against HDP MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu for his tweet about the arrests of mothers with babies.
A summary was prepared against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu for his tweet about the arrests of mothers with babies, accusing of 'provoking the public to hatred and hostility' by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Gergerlioğlu tweeted the following in his account on July 2019; "They have no limits! Everyday a mother with a baby is getting arrested, what kind of a country is this?", mentioning another tweet as follows: "My sister Sezen Ataş was taken into custody in Bursa this morning. This is the second time. Her husband Murat Ataş martyred 2 and a half years ago. She has a 2.5 yer old baby girl. Please help us, what can we do?"
His second tweet which is the reason for the summary is as follows: "Finally! Sezen Aktaş was released on the condition of judicial control, law and conscience have won. I hope other mothers with babies in prisons would be released as well. There was a public outcry about this mother. Let me announce the good news."
On grounds of these tweets, Gergerlioğlu's immunity was asked to be lifted.
