The health condition of the imprisoned Kurdish politican got worse 2020-05-20 15:22:56   ANKARA- The health condition of the Kurdish politican Mehmet Can Demir, who has been imprisoned for 28 months by the statements of an anonymous witness got worse as Demir is has hypertension and suffers from Alzheimer's disease.   Mehmet Can Demir (59) was imprisoned in February, 2018, after he was taken in custody when he was the Bitlis Provincial Chair of Democratic Regions Party (DBP). Demir has a history of politics as he was in the management of a number of parties including HEP, DEP, DEHAP, HADEP, DTP and BDP, which were active in the Kurdish representation. Düzen has a number of health problems and diseases including herniated disc, stomach problems and syper tensions as he also has Alzheimer's disease. It is learned that the kurdish politician, who is kept in In Bitlis Type E Closed Prison, worsened recently.    'THEY TRY TO FABRICATE EVIDENCE'   Demir's son Arif Demir was also imprisoned together with his father. Arif Demir stayed in prison for 17 months and he got released. Son Demir told that "My father is imprisoned as a result of some testimonies of an anonymous wtiness. A press statement he read back in 1994, prepared by the party he was in the administration of, was counted as a proof of guilt, because they evaluated this declaration as if it was an illegal declaration. They try to fabricate evidences like the one in this example".   HE HAD HEARTH ATTACK AND GASTRIC BLEEDING   Released son of the kurdish politican shared the condition of his sick prisoner father as he informed: "There is serious oppression against political prisoners. My dad has serious health problems. He had an angio operation due to the hearth attack he had. He also head an operation for herniated disc. He had gastric bleeding. He is now diagnoes with Alzheimer's. Due to the pandemic, there is trouble in the foods of the prison."   MA/ Diren Yurtsever
