Van prisons report: Life-threatening risk increase 2020-05-17 15:53:14   VAN- In the report announced regarding the conditions in the prisons of Van, it was stated that many applications such as the protective materials are being sold to the prisons and the prices for these materials are overcharged, increase the life-threatening risks.   Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) Van Branch, Van Bar Association Prison Commision and Van TUHAY-DER Association (Association of Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners and Detainees) announced the report they have prepared regarding their visits on May 13 to Van High Security Prisons of Type T and F. The report incudes the observations and evaluations of the three organizations as follows:    "The prisons are overcrowded, there is a lack of hygene metarials and personal protective equipments, the prisoners are not able to access the services of health. Therefore the prisoners face serious life-threatening risks. Many applications such as the protective materials are being sold to the prisons and being sold with overcharged prices as well as the disinfectation in the ward not being done properly and regulary, searching the prisoners without considering the social-distancing rules increase the life-threatening risks of both prisoners and guardians."
