Mezopotamya Women Journalists Platform, which was established to raise women's voices and to raise solidarity with women journalists declared a statement regarding May 3-World Press Freedom Day. Stating that May 3 is also their platform's establishment date, women journalists declared that May 3 is a day to remind all the journalists that their main goal is nothing but the "truth." Emphasizing that women journalists are among the ones, who are deeply affected in the current pandemic atmosphere the declaration  of women journalists in the platform stated that: "We are losing our jobs, we are facing violence, we have heavier work load and of course our responsibility as journalists increase more. We are aware of that. We want everyone to know that we never lose our belief on the fact that we are strong only when we stay together in solidarity. We know, we will be on the fields again, we will meet again in the news and the more they imprison, the more we will resist for freedom. We will increase solidarity more, we will give more effort. We are here not just as journalists, but especially as the women, as the platform of women. We believe that we will see better days where our pens will write freely and we can make the news of a world, where the equality, justice, peace and non-violence is established."
