Reaction from Ankara Bar Association to the Religious Affairs 2020-04-26 16:39:24 ANKARA- Ankara Bar Association reacted to the discriminative statements of the Chief of the Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş regarding the LGBTİ+ people. WHAT HAPPENED?   Speaking at the Ankara Hacı Bayram Mosque in the Friday prayer, Directorate of the Religious Affairs Chief Erbaş said, “Islam accepts adultery as one of the greatest haram (sin). Islam curse Lutism and homosexuality. What is the wisdom behind this? It lies on the ground that (homosexuality) brings the diseases and harms the generations."   'WE CONDEMN THIS STATEMENT'   Ankara Bar Association published statement condemning these statements of the Directorate of Religious Affairs and declared that: "In his period of duty, he kept his silence against child abuse and he legitimized the violence against women with religious discourse and paid for these service, The Chief of the Directorate of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş's last statement and his raising a call almost inviting the people to go out for witch hunt did not surprise us as he is famous for giving hatred speeches against the LGBTİQ+, women and children. We want declare to the international community around the world that, we condemn this man and his statement and as well as the mentality who supports such ideas of his."
