ÖHD Co-Chair Acinikli: No regulation will meet expectations unless TMK is removed 2020-04-08 09:47:36   İSTANBUL - ÖHD CO-Chair Acinikli said no regulation will meet expectations unless TMK is removed or the definition of 'terror' changes.   "The Law on the Execution of Criminal and Security Measures and the Amendment to Some Laws", which consists of 70 articles prepared by the AKP and MHP groups started to be discussed at the parliament yesterday. Ayşe Acinikli, Co-Chair of the Lawyers for Freedom Association who evaluated the law proposal the opposition critisizes for violating the principle of equality, said that even though the proposal is not considered to be an amnesty, it is partial amnesty.   Acinikli, stating that no regulation will meet expectations unless TMK is removed or the definition of 'terror' changes, said the description of 'terror' in Turkey is problematic. Acinikli, pointing out that the government considers detention as 'captivity' which is against even the war crimes, said: "Because the scope of disciplinary investigations has been expanded in a strange way. Even covering the surveillence cameras in prison is in the scope of disciplinary punishment. There is a new regulation that prisoners can only read newspapers, the Press Advertisement Agency advertises. People will be experiencing prison sentence inside the prison sentence. No regulation will meet expectations unless this policy changes."   MA / Ferhat Çelik
