Workers forced to work without gloves, allowed one mask per week 2020-03-20 16:31:44   BİNGÖL - The textile factories in Bingöl do not sanitize the factories against the coronavirus. The workers in a textile factory are forced to work without latex gloves and they are allowed one mask per week.   The epidemic of coronavirus (Kovid-19), which has killed thousands of people worldwide, continues to spread to different countries every day. According to an official statement in Turkey increased to 4 while the number of confirmed cases increased to 359.   THEY USE DISPOSABLE MASKS FOR A WEEK   The workers, stating that they are working 10 hours a day, said: "The managers of the factory gives us a mask and make us use them the whole week. There are 200 workers in the factory between the ages of 20 and 50. The clothes we sew change hands many times. We all touch them. They don't give us latex gloves anyway. We eat at the same table. We are always in close contact. If one of us gets sick, all of us will."   'WE DEMANDED SANITIZING, THEY DIDN'T DO IT'   We demanded the managers to get the place sanitized. They told us that the municipality did not have that service. We told them that we did not want to work under these conditions and that we wanted to stop production. The boss told us that coronavirus only makes the old people sick and told us to keep working. We reminded him of the measures taken across the country. The boss told us that we can quit and leave.    The workers called on the authorities to shut down such work places where 200- 300 people work at the risk of spreading the virus or to take action.    The factory management we called to ask about allagations said they were distributing masks and gloves but the workers always asked for more and that they did not know whether or not the factory has been sanitized.     MA / Mahmut Ruvanas
