Stating that there is a risk of the virus being transmitted to prisons, Gergerlioğlu said: "If the necessary precautions are not taken, the coronavirus can spread to mass areas such as prisons. These areas are far from hygienic. The defense systems are weak because the people there are not sufficiently fed and health checks are not done properly. When the coronavirus is transmitted to the people in prisons, there will be a disaster that we cannot prevent. It will be a disaster. If measures are not taken, coronavirus can spread in prisons and many deaths may occur. We must take precautions while we still have time."
