
First Newroz fire lit in Mardin

	MARDİN - According to the information received, the first Newroz fire was lit in Pınardere (Elfan) a rural neighborhood in Savur, province of Mardin.

	&nbsp;

	Young people danced and sang around the fire but the gendarmerie attacked the people. The fire was extinguished with water from TOMA.

	&nbsp;

	This year's Newroz celebrations and actions will have the slogan "Ji bo yekîtî, democrasi, azadî" (for unity, democracy and freedom) and Turkish "For Democracy, Justice and Freedom".
