Blockade of March 8 in İstanbul's Taksim 2020-03-08 13:02:10 İSTANBUL- Taksim, where the Feminist Night Walk for the 8 March International Women's Day will be held, has been surrounded with police barriers. For the Feminist Night Walk, which will be held for the 18th time this year in Istanbul, women will come together at 19.00 in front of the French Cultural Center in Beyoğlu and state their demands. Before the action, Taksim Square and its surroundings were blockaded with iron barriers.   Istanbul Traffic Supervision Branch Directorate announced the roads to be closed to traffic from 15:00 in Beyoğlu district within the scope of 8 March events.   The roads to be closed to traffic are as follows: Taksim Square (in front of Buffets) -The road connecting to Istiklal Street, the entrance-exit from Refik Saydam Street to Asmalı Mescit Street, Ensiz Street-First Municipality Street intersection, Balo Street-Turnacıbaşı Street intersection, Sadri Alışık Street- The direction of going from Atıf Yılmaz Avenue, Yeni Çarşı Avenue, Kumbaracı Yokuşu, Turnacıbaşı Avenue, Meşelik Street and Sadri Alışık Street to İstiklal Avenue, the intersection of Yeni Çarşı Avenue-Istiklal Avenue, Taksim Tunnel entrance, Istiklal Avenue direction. "   Alternative routes were determined as Gümüşsuyu Avenue, Tarlabaşı Boulevard, Refik Saydam Avenue, Sıraselviler Avenue.
