In Ergani district of Diyarbakır, the Peoples' Democratic Party event of the women planned for March 8 was banned by the District Governor. Ergani Co-Mayor Meryem Yıldız who spoke to our agency regarding the ban of the event, said they will not be stopped by bans and will continue their work regarding March 8.   Yıldız reacting to the fact that the District Governor banned the event even though it would be an indoor event, said the decision was based on the Diyarbakır Governor's ban on events and demonstrations between February 26 and March 11.   Yıldız said that they will continue their work for March 8, said: "“We prepared our billboards, hung up, and published the flyers. Then, we notified the district governor. The place where we will celebrate was an indoor area.We did not demand security from them. However, this year, they wanted to disrupt our efforts, especially for 8 March. We have filed a lawsuit to stop the execution regarding this decision taken by the district governorship. Our lawyers will do the necessary proceedings."
