HDP Party Assembly member detained in Diyarbakır 2020-01-13 12:52:05 DİYARBAKIR - HDP Party Assembly member Mesut Bağcı and a citizen called İhsan Çiftçi was taken into custody in Diyarbakır, Bağlar district. On 8 December 2019, 21 out of 24 people who were detained in the raids carried out in Çınar, Bağlar and Kayapınar districts were arrested with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization'. Within the scope of the same investigation, Gendarmerie teams raided the homes of Ibrahim Ciftci and Recep Ciftci brothers who were arrested in the Cinar Kilicaya (Kêrîkê) neighborhood.   Following the search Recep Çiftçi's son İhsan Çiftçi (17) was taken into custody, İbrahim Çiftçi's son Ramazan Çiftçi (17) was not taken into custody because he was not at home.   In the district of Baglar, People's Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly member Mesut Bağcı's house was also raided. Police teams breaking down the door, searched the house and detained Bağcı. Bağcı is known to be detained do to the confession of another person taken into custody and taken to Diyarbakır Security Directorate.
