48 Areas Declared Special Security Zones in Antep 2019-12-31 09:33:09 ANTEP - The Governorship of Antep has announced that 48 areas near the Syrian border have been declared special security zones for a period of 15 days. The Governorship of Antep has announced that 48 areas near Turkey-Syria border have been declared special security zones for 15 days.   Releasing a written statement on its official website, the Governorship has declared 48 areas withind the borders of Türkyurdu, Karkamış, Köprübatı and Fuat Oğuzcan Border Posts special security zones "to support the state of security on the Syrian border and to prevent any threats and dangers that would target citizens' safety of life and property."   As per the Article 32/A of the Law no. 2565 on Prohibited Military Zones and Security Zones, the specified 48 areas will be special security zones from January 1 to January 15, 2020. Accordingly, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and Provincial Directorate of Security will be authorized to control the entry and exit of vehicles and people in these areas, forbid it when necessary and take the necessary security measures.
