Father of Alan Kurdi: I was treated like an animal in Turkey 2019-09-30 12:34:48 NEWS DESK - Abdullah Kurdi, father of Alan Kurdi whose dead body washed up to a beach in Bodrum in 2015 and made the international agenda, told about the journey that costed him both his son and his wife and said: "I was being treated like an animal in Turkey.That's why we decided to leave." Father Kurdi said he will be sailing soon on a ship in the Mediterranean to rescue immigrants.   Abdullah Kurdi said about the journey that costed him both his son and his wife: "Dignity.Alan was going to be a doctor, I'm sure. We could have gone to Sweden, Denmark or Germany. We were being treated like an animal in Turkey. I thought it was my right to fight for my family, even a responsiblity."     Abdullah Kurdi who stated that they fleed to Turkey from Kobané in 2013 while he was working in a barbers shop, said: "If you are a barber who do not speak Turkish, no one gives you a job.I started cleaning a textilie factory for 600 TL. I was carrying 100 kg sacks for 5 storeys for 50 Liras."     Kurdi, stating that he is very happy that the rescue ship he will be sailing in of a German Non-governmental organization is named after his son Alan Kurdi, said :"I want to extend my hand to those in need, which was never done for me."
