Decision of deporting immigrants linked to 'security corridor' 2019-08-05 11:43:17   ISTANBUL - 'We Are All Immigrants, No to Racism' campaigner Sibel Erduman who stated that the deportation of the unregistered immigrants decision came after the debate of 'Security Corridor', said: Turkey uses the immigrants as a leverage. We have to protect immigrants."   Following the decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office to limit unregistered Syrian immigrants and government officials' statements targeting immigrants, immigrants became unable to leave their homes. Sibel Erduman, one of the executives of the campaign 'We are All Immigrants No to Racism',  stating that this situation increases the hate speech against immigrants, said that the problems of immigrants have deepened in the last 5 years.   Noting that this practice regarding the immigrants came after the discussion of the security corridor, Erduman said: "The state wants to declare a safe zone in Syria. It wants to legitimize itself by trying to cut the Kurdish corridor and to place the migrants there to legitimize the safe zone. The government, stating that "We can't solve it here, we'll solve this problem in the safe zone" want to legitimize itself by imposing it on the West."
