Prisoners carrying out actions in Kürkçüler Prison

	ADANA - HDP prisoners in Adana Kürkçüler Type F Prison who have been there for 4 months now, said they are carrying out actions 6 times a day because they are being subjected to systematic torture, the sick prisoners are not being treated and their rights are being violated.

	 

	Members of People's Democratic Party (HDP) who have been imprisoned in Adana Kürkçüler for 4 months, told about the violations of rights they have been going through. HDP former Seyhan District Co-chair Yaşar Demir who stated that they have been arrested on anonymous tips and Süleyman Soylu targeting them, added it is unacceptable for them to be subjected to strip searches and they are being subjected to psychological torture due to their resistance, said: "The guards have made this indignified application systematic. They force us to strip searches despite all our objections."

	 

	 

	PRISONERS ON ACTION 6 HOURS A DAY

	 

	 

	Demir who was released on July 10, stating that the guards direct the prisoners to the independent ward and those who object are being subjected to psychological pressure. Demir who stated that those who participated in the hunger strikes for the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan have been subjected to pressure and assaults through out their action, said the prisoners have recieved 10 day penalties after they ended their hunger strikes and they were not properly fed or treated afterwards. Demir who stated that there is pressure and islation in the prison, said the prisoners are carrying out actions 6 hours a day with slogans and banging on doors. 

	 

	 

	PRISONERS ARE NOT BEING TREATED

	 

	 

	Demir who stated that Yeni Yaşam (New Life) Newspaper is not being given to the prisoners, said the yard have been closed down with wires. Demir pointing out that the prisoners are not being treated, said: "I have bladder carcinoma . I was taken to Adana City Hospital. They sent me back because they do not have the proper tools. They sent me to Balcalı Prison and they refused me on the grounds that I did not have an appointment. I haven't recieved any treatment for 4 months.Prisoners are not being treated."
