The questions about the hunger strikes declared 'informal press shares' 2019-05-24 12:08:30 DİYARBAKIR - The Prison Administration and Observation Board that declared the questions that were sent to Journalist Kibriye Evren who is on hunger strike as 'informal press shares', decided that the questions will not be delivered to Kibriye Evren unless the Ministry of Justice officially allows it. While the hunger strikes and the death fasts are continuing with the demand that the continued isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to be lifted, journalist Kibriye Evren is on hunger strike for 160 days in Diyarbakır Type E Closed Prison where she is being kept.   The question Mesopotamian Agency (MA) have sent to Evren regarding their health conditions and the hunger strikes in May 21, was not delivered to Evren with an interesting excuse. Evren's attorney Resul Tamur who visited Evren the same day, submitted a petition to the prison administration demanding the questions be delivered to Evren.    The Prison Administration and Observation Board who rejected the request of Tamur the same day, said: "It was decided that the questions to the detainee were not included in the training and improvement activities and that the interview questions were informal press sharing on the hunger strike actions, so it was not appropriate to give these questions without the permission of the Ministry since there were no documents related to the defense."     The Board argued that the press organizations should have the approval of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the permission of the Ministry of Justice for news, interviews, photo shootings and similar requests.   The board who decided the questions will be delivered back to the attorney, said attorneys can object to the decision in 15 days.
