Two brothers on hunger strike: We will definately succeed 2019-05-11 10:02:00 VAN - Two brothers, Mazlum Tamur in Van type T Prison and Cihan Tamur in Van High Security Prison, made a statement for the public opinion via their mothers, and said: "We will definately succeed", stating that the hunger strikes will bring peace. Hanife Temur who lives in Hakkari, Yüksekova, spent most of her life in front of prison doors. Her son Cihan Tamur in Van High Security Prison is on hunger strike for 147 days, while his other son Mahsun Tamur joined the hunger strike on March 1. Mother Tamur who is trying to keep her sons alive, visited  Cihan on April 6 and Mazlum in April 7, and stated that both her sons are very determined with their actions.   Mother Tamur conveyed his son Cihan Tamur's message from the visit, saying: 'We are on hunger strike with one demand and it is the termination of the isolation. The isolation is on all of us. Our hunger strike action will conduce to peace' while Mazlum Tamur said: 'We will continue the hunger strike until the isolation is removed. We will definately win.'      Mother Tamur who stated that their son's morale was high and that she believed that the hunger strike action will succeed, said: "Cihan is on hunger strike for 147 dats. He lost 23 kilos when I last saw him.Tamur who emphasized that the hunger strikers are on a critical threshold, said one meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan does not mean the isolation is over." Mother Tamur said: "My son's told me that the hunger strikes will continue until the aggravated isolation is permanently removed. Our children are wasting away before our eyes.We have to say 'stop' to this. We have to draw a line. We want the demands to be met immediately. These are humane and legitimate demands.Our people should support these demands."
