'The meeting with Öcalan is not about ending the isolation' 2019-05-09 10:56:03   DİYARBAKIR - Salih Tekin who has been on hunger strike for 68 days , stating that their only demand it the application of the existing law, stated that the meeting with Öcalan was not about ending the isolation.    Salih Tekin who started the hunger strike in People's Democratic Party (HDP) Building with HDP Deputy Dersim Dağ, was taken under custody and got arrested in the second police raid. Tekin who was put into Diyarbakır Type D Prison, was released on April 5 and continued the hunger strike from his home. He has trouble with his eye sight, low blood pressure, nausea, headaches. He tells his visiters that they can not remain unresponsive to the hunger strikes.   Tekin who stated that he started the hunger strike to raise awareness, said: "This is a moral and conscientious process. Our demand is not impossible. We just want the government to apply their own law. Our struggle now, is a historical one. If there is crumb of the truth, the struggle is necessary. And we will continue to fight."   Tekin who stated that the law and the legislation is put aside, drew attention to the silence of the public. Tekin who mentioned the meeting with Öcalan on May 2, said: "That meeting was not about ending the isolation. Our demand is not making a single visit.We demand the law to be applied. Our demand remained unanwered."   Tekin who defined the silence regarding the hunger strikes as 'shameful', said: " 4 parliament members who are supposed to be at the parliament, are on hunger strike right now. This is something people should raise their voices for. Our mothers get insulted every day. They get subjected to heinous attacks. Everyone who believes they are democrats should raise their voices. "   Tekin who stated that he will not give up the hunger strike until the isolation ends, said he will continue defending life.
