Sağlam who continues the hunger strike home: Let's be a fiery circle around the prisons 2019-05-06 11:54:15   İSTANBUL - Tuncer Sağlam who got arrested in Rize, continues the hunger strike he started on March 1 at his home after he got released. Sağlam who stated that the hunger strike action gives him strength, said: "I am calling on to everyone to be a fiery circle around the prisons."   Sağlam who joined the hunger strike action on March 1, was sentenced to 3 years 10 months and 25 days with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization.  Sağlam who came back to his home after his release, continues the hunger strike there.   Sağlam who stated that he is continuing the hunger strike determindly, said his only demand is the removal of the isolation in İmralı.  Sağlam who stated that isolation is not humane, lawful or consciencious, said: "Isolation is not limited with İmralı. The whole Middle East, the oppressed and democracy is under isolation. Everyone who has a conscience, who defends democracy should raise their voices against isolation."   Sağlam who stated that he has been feeling stronger since he joined the hunger strike action, said: "It is not a hard think to provide visitations with his attorneys and his family. It is the law. There is no justification for preventing him from seeing his family and his attorneys. If we don't want funerals coming out of the prisons, we have to raise our voices. It has been more than 170 days. What are they waiting for? This is an honourable and dignified action. And I am feeling lucky I am in it. We are ready to die to secure peace, brotherhood and justice to Turkey. We are not afraid to die."    Sağlam said: "I am calling on to everyone to be a fiery circle around the prisons" said the action will grow as long as this uncertainty continues. Sağlam said: "The government will be responsible. The Ministry of Justice will be responsible. We do not want to see the mothers weeping anymore. We want democracy and justice."
