KKP President Çiftyürek: If we will be battered, we will be battered together 2019-05-03 12:43:45 DİYARBAKIR - KKP President Sinan Çiftyürek, made a call to the political parties and non governmental organizations regarding the hunger strikes and the death fast and said: "If we will be battered, we will be battered together."   The hunger strike Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co chair Leyla Güven initiated continues on its 177th day. The hunger strikes began after her on December 16, spreaded to all prisons on March 1. 15 prisoners from 4 different prisons turned their hunger strike action to a death fast protesting the silence of the government.  HDP Deputies Tayip Temel and Murat Sarısaç joined the hunger strike HDP Diyarbakır Deputy Dersim Dağ started  on March 3 , on March 8. 15 prisoners turned their hunger strike action to a death fast protesting the silence of the authorities.   Çiftyürek who underlined the need for the Kurdish community to act, said: "Let's get battered in Dağkapı square, but not let one more funeral come out of the prisons. Let's use our democratic rights. We are not talking using guns. We are demanding the isolation to be terminated in the streets. We have to lift that burden off the prisons that roots from death."   Çiftyürek who stated that the government and the Ministry of Justice are trampling on the law, said: "There is a government that does not obey the law. That's why we have to turn every area to a democratic action area in Kurdistan. We have to take that burden. We will be battered together if we have to. We, political parties and non governmental organizations have to be our on the streets just like the mothers in white muslin."
