They have serious health issues. A lot of weight loss, difficulty in fluid intake, long lasting diarrhea , vomiting, cramps, constant headaches, sensitivity to noise. Disciplinary penalty was given to all prisoners after they joined the hunger strikes and they all have recieved a 3 month penalty, which prevents them from using the social domains. The prisoners think that their demand must be met and that they will continue their hunger strikes until the demands are met. We will keep monitoring the process. We will do all that is in our power to find a solution and prevent more deaths."   Murat Ekmez who spoke afterwards pointed out that, in many prisons the hunger strikers are not being checked by doctors, and said: "The prisons must be opened for independent health committees, and those who have a conscience must be in an effort for a solution."
