Mothers who got battered by the police: The only solution is the termination of the isolation 2019-04-20 15:40:01 İSTANBUL - The mothers who got battered by the police while they were trying to wait a watch in front of Gebze Prison where their children are on hunger strike spoke. Mother said: "No one should expect us to sit down in silence and wait for our children to die' and demanded the termination of isolation at once.   The relatives of the prisoners who are on hunger strike demanding the termination of the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, started a vigil in front of Gebze Type M CLosed Prison on April 9. The families whom the polcie intervenes every time they went there, was battered by the police every time they went there, than was taken under custody and wait the watch again the day after.     The police intervened to the citizens with water cannons yesterday when they came in front of the prison saying 'Don't expect us to sit at home when our children are hungry'.The polive intervention contiued in the alleys after the families dispersed. The video images of the police pushing the mothers with batons caused an enourmous reaction in the society.     Kocaeli Governership which was obliged to make a statement regarding the issue, had to announced that an investigation was launched about the police in question.     The mothers who were subjected to this torture, stating that most of the women there was above 60, said: "A crime was committed in the glare of pulicity. That ferocity alone, shows that we are all isolated. That's why everyone should be involved in the hunger strikes,  making noise about it. The isolation must be terminated at once. The solution is not to batter us. The solution is the termination of isolation. We will be there no matter what they do. We come everyday at the risk of being killed. That will not stop us."
