'We must stop the deaths no matter what the outcome is' 2019-04-09 09:55:11   DİYARBAKIR- Fatma Sürme, mother of Ahmet Sürme who has been on hunger strike for 104 days in Tekirdağ No 2 Type F Closed Prison, demanding that the demands of the prisoners be met, said: "We, mothers, should not wait for them to die and stop the deaths no matter what the outcome is."   While the hunger strike Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic PArty (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven initiated is continuing on its 153rd day, the hunger strike action spreaded to all prisons on March 1.   Ahmet Sürme (31) from Tekirdağ No 2 Type F Closed Prison continues his hunger strike since December 26. Sürme has a sentence of 16 years in prison with the accusation 'being a member of an illegal organization'. Sürme who was visited by his parents, said he will continue his hunger strike until their demand is met.   Mother Fatma Sürme who spoke to Mezopotamya Agency (MA), stating that she have last visited her son on March 26 and he was having difficulty in walking and he was able to come with the help of his friends. Sürme who stated that she wants the deaths in prisons to stop, said all mothers should see and understand the hunger strikes. Sürme who stated that the prisoners does not want peace and freedom for only the Kurdish, said Turkish mothers should also say stop to this. Sürme who stated that mothers need to unite to secure peace, said: "Us, mothers, should not sit and wait for them to die, we have to stop these deaths no matter what the outcome is."
