60 prisoners on hunger strike in Antalya and Alanya prisons 2019-03-18 11:51:52   ANTALYA- 60 prisoners 9 of which are female, are on an indefinite non-rotating hunger strike in Antalya and Alanya Type K Closed Prison. The prisoners made a call stating: "We will keep on with our hunger strike as long as our leader is under isolation. Our bodies which we layed to hunger can be sacrificed for our leader. All public should help us be heard."    While Mesut Canbey, Ramazan Sayan, Nevin Gökçe and Zelal Başboğa started the hunger strike in Alanya Type L Closed Prison on January 5, Gurbet Öztürk and Hacire Çay have joined the hunger strike from Antalya Type L Closed Prison on January 26. As of March 1, 60 people 9 of which are female joined the hunger strike action. According to the information obtained, all prisoners except children and sick prisoners have joined the hunger strikes. The prison administration started a disciplinary inquisition about the prisoners.   According to the information obtained, the hunger striker prisoners are not being given the necessarry vitamins or the right amount of sugar because they do not accept going to the infirmary. The hunger strikers called on to the society saying: "Our action will continue no matter the price is.We will thrive even if there is death at the end of it.Our hunger strike will continue as long as the isolation on our leader continues. Our bodies which we layed to hunger can be sacrificed for our leader. All public should help us be heard."
