Bozan who has been on a hunger strike for 79 days: Claim our action 2019-03-04 11:33:38 İSTANBUL- Rühşan Bozan who is on a hunger strike for 79 days in Gebze Women's Closed Prison, stating that she layed her body to hunger because of the injustices, said: " We are expecting our people and the democratic circles to claim this action and be sensitive."   The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven to protest the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on its 117th day. Güven is continuing the hunger strike she started in prison from her home since her release on January 25. The hunger strike 331 political prisoners started after Leyla Güven is on its 79th day.   All PKK and PJAK prisoners have joined the hunger strike on March 1, because the government have still not taken any steps.   Rühşan Bozan who was born in 1981 in Batman and was arrested in May 2013 and sentenced to 23 years of prison, wrote a letter in Gebze Women's Closed Prison where she started her hunger strike 79 days ago.   Bozan called on to the public to claim the hunger strike, said: " We are expecting our people and the democratic circles to claim this action and be sensitive. I want our people to know that the isolation AKP-MHP fascist government imposes on our leader is actually imposed on the honour of all Kurdish people. We are the children of those people who took part in this hunger strike. So everyone should question themselves on how much more they can do to support this hunger strike. It is the innocent Kurdish people's blood to be shed as long as people stay silent against fascism. Therefore, we expect from our people, and the democratic circles, and everyone who says they are human to claim this hunger strike and feel the will that risk their lives to change this wind."
