International Women Initiative calls for Güven 2019-01-29 13:19:37   NEWS DESK- International Women's Initiative published a statement for Leyla Güven who has been on hunger strike for 83 days protesting the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan and said: "By raising public awareness, send letters to your governments to ask the Turkish government to respect the rights of Leyla Güven and Abdullah Öcalan"   International Women's Initiative published a statement with the title 'Save Leyla Güven's life' for Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven who has been on a hunger strike for 83 days protesting the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.   The statement read: " As members of the initiative we are calling on to the Eueopean institutions like The Council of Europe (EC), the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE); to to fulfill its legal and political obligations to act against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's autocratic regime "   'WE ARE CALLING ON TO SAVE GÜVEN'S LIFE'   "We are trying to save Güven's life by organizing solidarity campaigns forming initiatives for Leyla Güven.Your actions in Turkey will provide solidarity with the hunger strike activists, who act as a sacrifice to confront the Kurdish issue and the peaceful solution to the chaotic situation brought to the Middle East and to face the politics of exclusion, racism and denial in the country.Please support our call by increasing the awareness of the public through solidarity campaigns and actions, sending letters to your governments, asking them to demand the respect of the rights of Leyla Güven and Abdullah Öcalan from the Turkish government "
