
ÖGİ statement regarding the journalists taken under custody in Duhok

	DİYARBAKIR- ÖGİ protesting the detention of the journalists in Federal Kurdistan District, demanded the attack on press freedom to end.

	&nbsp;

	Free Journalists Initiative (ÖGİ) made a written statement about the detention of the journalists and their agencies being shut down in Irak Federal Kurdistan District after the people walking to the Turkey Military Base. In the ÖGi statement where the oppresion over the journalists have been increasing was mentioned, it was reminded that many reporters from agencies like KNN, RojNews and NRT Tv have been taken under custody.

	&nbsp;

	The fact that the journalists were taken into custody and the closure of the NRT office was an indication of the intolerance of the regional government to the facts, emphasized that the detention of journalists in the region and the closure of the offices were an attack on the freedom of the press.
