'Rosa have become a beacon of light for women' 2019-01-25 11:28:39 'DİYARBAKIR- Rosa Women's Association founder Narin Gezgör who stated that they have come together in connection with every kind of violence against women, said the association have become a beacon of light for women.   While many associations for women were being shut down in scope of the state of emergency with the law decrees after the July 15 coup attempt, the women centers of Democratic Districts Party (DBP) made non functional by the hand of the trustees appointed at the municipalities.   Women who did not give up their struggle against this, opened the Rosa Women's Association in Diyarbakır on 3 December in order to prevent violence against women and child abuse.   One of the founders of the association, Narin Gezgör spoke to Mezopotamya Agency (MA) about their founding purposes.   Gezgör who stated that their first activity was to call for blood and marrow donation for 3.5 year old leukemia patient Öykü Arin, said: "We are in contact  with all non-governmental organizations in Amed about how a defense network should be built on preventing violence against women.   There are very positive reactions in this direction. The women exposed to violence have said Rosa is a beacon of light after the women's foundations all shut down in Amed. We are already being seen as the address for the women exposed to violence can seek shelter."
