Koçyiğit: The opposition is on the same page with the government when it comes to isolation 2019-01-14 13:35:30 ANKARA- HDK Co-Spokesperson Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit who said the fact that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was allowed to see his brother does not mean the hunger strikes are going to end, stated that AKP government is aiming to break expanding the social resistance. Koçyiğit also critisized the opposition about being on the same page with the government when it comes to isolation. The hunger strike Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven initiated is in its 68th day. Abdullah Öcalan who was last visited by his borther Mehmet Öcalan on September 11, 2016 as a result of the hunger strikes done by more than 200 people, was able to see his brother again after 852 days.   After this meeting the eyes were turned towards the prisons for their decisions, the prisoners announced that they will continue the hunger strikes as the isolation is not yet terminated.   People's Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-Spokespersons Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and Sedat Şenoğlu have spoke to Mezopotamya Agency (MA) about Leyla Güven's hunger strike and the isolation   Koçyiğit who underlined that the expanding hunger strikes initiated by Leyla Güven is very significant and meaningful, said: "Güven has only one demand and that is Mr. Öcalan to be able to have regular visitation rights with his attorneys, family and committees. This is in fact a mechanism that must be spontaneously processed in a normal state of law."   HDK Co-Spokesperson Koçyiğit also criticized the opposition for maintaining their silence regarding the hunger strikes.   Koçyiğit said: " We see that the opposition is on the same page with the government when it comes to isolation. We are face to face with an opposition turning a bling eye on the demands and the struggles of the Kurdish community about equality and freedom. If the rule of law is to be established, if it is desired to take a step towards democracy, the main opposition party and all the opposition parties should give voice to Leyla Güven and at the same time they must take action in the termination of İmralı isolation. There is no validity of the promise of democracy and peace, when they cannot condemn the isolation. Its like writing on water. In this sense, our people follow this process with precision and this is being excavated in our people's memory."
