Attorney Özbek: They are making up criminal offenses 2018-12-26 13:48:47   DİYARBAKIR- Lawyer Gülşen Özbek stated that the detainees were faced with a second unlawfulness because they were on a hunger strike, said'They are making up criminal offenses'     While Kurdish politicians and citizens participating in hunger strikes organized in many centers demanding the termination of isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, have been detained and charged with 'being a member of an illegalorganization', 'making propaganda for an illegal organization', 'praising crime and criminals';lawyers says  hunger strikes do not constitute a crime, they are takng people under custody with made up crimes.      Lawyer Gülşen Özbek who spoke to the Mezopotamya Agency that the fundamental rights and freedoms were suspended with the end of the solution process in the country and that this situation became legal with the state of emergency.In two weeks, approximately 60 people in Diyarbakır were detained due to the hunger strike they had entered in order to support the hunger strike initiated by Leyla Güven.Özbek said, after the last 35 people were taken under custody, the detention process was extended for the first time in Dİyarbakır.     Attorney Özbek who underlined that a human's life is in danger and that the government should be much more sensitive and careful about it, said:"First of all what the state should do, is to eliminate the reasons for the initiation of hunger strike"
