PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan is not allowed to see his attorneys since July 27, 2011 and isn't allowed to see his family since September 11, 2016.   The application Öcalan made to the Ministry of Justice is as follows: " My uncle, Mr. Abdullah Öcalan, who was detained in İmralı High Security F-Type Prison, has not been able to contact with  his attorneys since July 27, 2011  and again has not been able to contact with his family since September 11, 2016. Since the 21st of July 2016, his use of fundamental rights has been prevented as a whole by the 1st Execution Court in Bursa, with the excuse of State of Emergency. His rights to communication tools such as letter, fax, telephone are prohibited uninterruptedly. This is a violation of the basic principles of law such as the principle of equality, the prohibition of discrimination, the right of the lawyer to legal aid and the basic conditions of detention and convict rights. It was also publicized that hunger strikes were started in prisons in order to open the channels of conversation with Mr. Öcalan and the process became critical. For all these reasons, as his family we demand that the channels of communication be opened as soon as possible with Abdullah Öcalan ."
