The discharged Professor : Our sense of belonging has decreased 2018-11-02 12:59:06 ANKARA - Haşim Yılmaz, who became a professor at the age of 36, said about his being discharged with a law decree: " What kind of a state lets terrorist wander around in the streets for 2 years? We have lost our sense of belonging to this country. My 12 year old son tells me, 'Dad, Let's send our ID cards to the President once we went abroad.' With the law decrees of the state of emergency, 6 thousand 81 academicians have been discharged. Only 174 of them were reinstated  with the verdict of the State of Emergency Commission.  While some of the discharged academicians created new lines of work, some of them are still struggling for their rights. One of those academicians is Haşim Yılmaz who was discharged from Gazi University in 2016.   Yılmaz who is a academic member for 20 years have conducted numerous scientific researhes and studies. He became a professor at the age of 36, and one of the youngest to achieve that title in his field.   Yılmaz: " If I am declared a terrorist, I want to stand trial, I want to be judged and pay my penalty. What kind of a state lets a terorrist wander around in the streets for 2 years? If I am guilty, I am ready to pay my penalty, if I am not, please let me go back to my scientific studies."   Many job applications of Yılmaz were denied. Yılmaz, "My sense of belonging to this country is almost lost.
