Amik Castle came down from Urartu is about to perish 2018-10-31 15:39:26   VAN- Amik Castle came down from Urartus from B.C 700's is abandoned to its fate. According to the Kurdish writer İkram İşler who mentions its importance regarding Kurdish history, says the fact that it is not preserved is ideological.   Amik Castle that survived since B.C 700's in the shores of Van Lake is about to perish. The land of the castle is not declared archeological site, despite the fact that %70 of the castle is perished and there are barrows around it.   Writer İkram İşler thinks that the castle is not protected due to ideological reasons.   'THEY DID NOTHING TO PROTECT THE CASTLE'   İşler emphasizing that despite the barrows around it the castle is not declared protected site, said: "They would have turned it into a palace if the castle was made by someone coming from Central Asia. Turkey had a Turkish History thesis. Then it became Turkish- İslam thesis. The castle is not Turkish nor İslamic. That's why it is abandoned. They did nothing to protect this castle."
