A life on the way to Prison 2018-10-05 11:24:08   HAKKARİ- Refiye Geylan spent 20 years of her life on the way from Şemdinli to Erzurum, Muş, Gümüşhane, and Elazığ to see her son in prison.   Refiye Geylan who lives in Şemdinli, Hakkari spent a lifetime on the road because her son is in prison.   Her son Mustafa Geylan were delivered from Georgia to Turkey for allegedly being a member of PKK in the Newroz of 1999 with 6 friends of his.   He then were sentenced with life and put in Erzurum Prison. And the journey have started for mother Geylan.   DIRECTION CHANGE WITH EXILE   Mustafa Geylan who spent the 11 years in Erzurum with torture, isolation and many other human rights violations were exiled to Muş Type E Closed Prison. Therefore mother Geylan's destination were changed to Muş for 2 years 6 months.   Mustafa Geylan, then exiled to Gümüşhane Prison. And then to Elazığ Prison which is well known for its human rights violence’s.   After 20 years, now grandchild’s accompany mother Geylan.   WE HAVE TO BE THE VOICE OF THE ONES IMPRISONED   Mother Geylan who witnessed the violations done to her son and his friends for 20 years said: "What I witnessed is what my son told me. They keep most of it to themselves in order not to cause us grief. We have to be the voice of the ones who live imprisoned. We have to be worthy of them and do more than we can to stop the violations they go through."
