Seven journalists are to be tried tomorrow 2018-10-02 10:47:19   DİYARBAKIR - The trial of the seven journalists who have shared the news about Sur operation in DİHA will start tomorrow in Diyarbakır 9th criminal court.   Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office have filed a law suit about those who have shared the article named “Name of the Siege “Flag 12” lead by Musa Çitil “which was published by DIHA and Özgür Gündem that got shut down with a statutory degree in February 2016. Musa Çitil, who used to be gendarmerie regional commander and than promoted to deputy general commandership of gendarmerie in july 2016 seems to be the complainants in the bill of indictment.   The seven people who the Prosecuter’s Office wants a prison sentence for one to three years are consisting of DİHA’s (Dicle News Agency) news director Ömer Çelik, DİHA reporters Çağdaş Kaplan, Hamza Gündüz, Selman Çiçek and journalist A. Vahap Taş, managing editor of Özgür Gündem İnan Kızılkaya and licensee of Özgür Gündem Kemal Sancılı. The offence charged is to target the people who participated in counter terrorism.     DİHA (Dicle News Agency) reporter Selman Çiçek also charged with a prison sentence for one to five years for propaganda of an illegal organization.    The trial for the seven journalists is starting tomorrow at Diyarbakır 9th Criminal Court
