DEM Party Deputy Düşünmez: The road to peace passes through İmralı 2024-01-26 10:03:50   COLEMÊRG - DEM Party Deputy Onur Düşünmez said: "If the state is going to take a step towards peace, the road goes through İmralı."   There has been no news from PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and other prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım for 35 months. While all applications made by the family and the lawyers were blocked on the grounds of "disciplinary" penalties, the "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign and the hunger strikes launched in Turkey and Kurdistan prisons on November 27 and the Justice Watch continue in many cities.   People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Colemêrg Deputy Onur Düşünmez made evaluations about the isolation that started in İmralı Prison. Stating that an isolation system has been operating in İmralı Prison for more than 24 years, Düşünmez said that the isolation is getting worse day by day because PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan does not step back.   'THE SOLUTION AND THE WILL ARE IMPROVED'   Reminding that millions of people have openly declared their will by saying "Mr. Ocalan is my political will", Düşünmez said: "While the state expected the public not to see Mr. Ocalan as a political interlocutor, at this stage, Mr. Ocalan is now in the position of representative of more than millions of people. We say that if the state is going to take a step towards peace, the way and the will goes through İmralı. And they are trying to achieve a result by deepening the isolation. However, they could not make the people, who stood by their will against all these tendencies, step back. If the state is going to take steps towards peace, the solution and will is Imrali."    Reminding Ocalan's role and mission in the solution process of 2013-2015, Düşünmez said: "We believe that peace can be realized with the perspective that will emerge from İmralı Island."
