Peace Mothers at the 'Freedom' action 2024-01-03 16:20:22   NEWS CENTER – Peace Mothers, who participated in the Justice Watch action in 6 cities demanding "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan", gave the message: "We want freedom. Our action will not end until the isolation on our leader and our children is abolished."   Justice Watch action, initiated within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign, continue in Amed, Wan, Izmir, Adana, Mersin and Istanbul. Today, there were intense visits to the protests from many segments of society.   ADANA   The Justice Watch initiated by Akdeniz Adana Assistance and Solidarity Association with Families of Detainees and Convicts (AATUHAY-DER) is on its 31st day. Many people attended the protest in the AATUHAY-DER building. Hacı Cihangir, one of the activists, stated that the Imrali isolation has spread not only to Imrali but also to Turkey and the Middle East. Emphasizing that peace will come with Abdullah Öcalan, Cihangir demanded Öcalan's freedom. Cihangir called on all segments of society to support the action.   IZMIR    The Justice Watch initiated by the relatives of prisoners under the leadership of the Aegean Detainee and Convict Families and Assistance and Solidarity Association (EGE TUHAY-DER) continues in Izmir. Participants of the action at the Aegean Regional Representation of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) wore aprons with the words "Isolation is a crime against humanity" written on them.   Members of Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) Izmir Branch visited the relatives of the prisoners in action. Zeynel Bozkurt, one of the managers of DAD Izmir Branch, said: “Our people are in trouble. According to our belief, we want to be with people who are in trouble and in difficulty. We stand by this justified demand of the mothers. It is the greatest right of mothers to support their children. The Kurdish issue must be solved by democratic means as soon as possible. The solution depends on the removal of the isolation imposed on the Kurds’ Leader and the isolation imposed in the dungeons."   WAN    The Justice Watch action, initiated under the leadership of Wan Association for Assistance with Detainee and Convict Families (TUHAY-DER), continued on its 30th day. Many people, including DEM Party Wan MPs Gülderen Varlı and Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit, visited the captive relatives.   DEM Party member Sayyiğit said: "As it is known, hunger strikes have been launched in all prisons to abolish the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan and all prisoners. Our mothers are on duty here to support them. We salute this resistance. There has been a policy of oppression and assimilation on the Kurds for centuries. They have survived on the blood of the Kurds. They are trying to destroy our culture, our language and our values in order to destroy us. We have been resisting this oppression for years. We will continue to resist."    The slogan "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" was frequently chanted during the action.   AMED   The Justice Watch action at the DEM Party Rêzan (Bağlar) District Organization building in Amed continues. Relatives of the prisoners who participated in the protest wore white coats with the words "Isolation is a crime against humanity" written on them. Peace Mothers from Mersin and Colemêrg, Rosa Women's Association, DEM Party Yenişehir District Organization and Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Amed Provincial Organization managers visited the activists.   Peace Mothers gave the message: "We want freedom. Our action will not end. We will continue the struggle until the isolation imposed on our leader and our children is abolished."   The action, where Kurdish folk songs were sung, continued with the slogans "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" and "Political prisoners are our honor".   MERSİN   The action led by Çukurova Association for Assistance with Families of Detainees and Convicts (Çukurova TUAY-DER) is on its 31st day. There was intense participation in the action held at the Çukurova TUAY-DER building in Mersin. During the action, slogans such as "Jin, jiyan, azadî" and "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" were frequently chanted.   Speaking at the action, Hasan Ehim pointed out that there had been no news from Abdullah Öcalan for months and emphasized that their demand is freedom. Ehim emphasized that the isolation should be abolished as soon as possible.
