Parliament will be asked whether Bayındır elected as an MP 2023-07-12 14:59:56   DİYARBAKIR - In the case of DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, it was decided to ask the Parliament whether he was a member of parliament.   The second hearing of the trial in which the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair and Êlih(Batman) MP Keskin Bayındır is on trial for “being a member of a terrorist organization” was held at the Diyarbakır 10th High Criminal Court. At the hearing, which Bayındır did not attend, his lawyers Burhan Arta and Yunus Muratakan were present.   At the hearing, which started after his identification, Bayındır's lawyers repeated their previous defense and demanded the acquittal of their clients. The lawyers demanded that all existing judicial control measures against their clients be lifted and the proceedings be stopped due to his election as a member of parliament.   PARLIAMENTARY WILL BE ASKED    Then, the prosecution, who took the floor, wrote a discussion to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, asking whether Bayındır was a member of parliament and, if elected, to send the relevant documents, and asked for the request for the stay of the proceedings to be evaluated after the next reply.   Announcing its interim decision, the court board decided to continue the ban on foreign travel, to ask the Parliament whether Bayındır is a member of parliament, and to evaluate the lawyers' request for the stay of the trial after the response, and postponed the hearing to November 8.
