AKP objected to the deputyship of Gergerlioğlu 2023-05-18 14:10:44   KOCAELİ - Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, who was elected as an MP from the Green Left Party in Kocaeli, declared that the AKP objected to his deputy, citing the prison sentence of the Constitutional Court.   Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, who was elected as an MP in Kocaeli from the Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party), announced that the AKP members objected to his deputy in a post on his social media account. Gergerlioğlu stated that AKP members applied to the Supreme Election Board (YSK), citing the previous prison sentence. Gergerlioğlu recalled the "violation" decision of the Constitutional Court (AYM) regarding the 2 years and 6 months finalized prison sentence.   'THEY ARE TRYING TO BREAK THE WILL OF THE PUBLIC'   Gergerlioğlu shared the following message on his Twitter: "They dropped my attorneyship and imprisoned me, I got re-elected, they are not satisfied! They are trying to violate the will of the public again! They are trying to stop the will of the people of Kocaeli, whom they could not defeat in the elections, with foot tricks and absurd objections at the YSK! The AKP officials are trying to manipulate the Judiciary by convincing the Supreme Election Board despite the violation decision of the Constitutional Court."   THE SENTENCE WAS ESCAPED BY THE JURISDICTION!   Gergerlioğlu also shared the petition sent to the YSK by Emre Arık, the AKP's authorized person to appeal. In the petition written by AKP member Arık for Gergerlioğlu to the YSK, the following statements were included: “Omer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, who is the number 1 candidate in the Green Left Party deputy candidate list, was nominated even though he did not have the eligibility to be elected, and his candidacy was finalized by escaping of the judicial organs. However, the candidate has a definite prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months. This situation prevents the eligibility of being elected as a deputy in accordance with the supreme provision of the law. We will notify your esteemed board of this matter and request that it notify the Supreme Election Board in order to take necessary action."
