DFG Co-chair Altan: The lawless period is coming to an end

	DİYARBAKIR - Pointing to the May 14 elections, imprisoned DFG Co-Chair Serdar Altan said: "The unlawful period we live in with our belief in a democratic and free future is closing."

	 

	Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) Co-Chair Serdar Altan sent a message from the prison where he was held, through his lawyer and pointed to the 14 May elections: “We are going through a period in which the freedom of the press is arbitrarily limited, laws and rights are openly violated and trampled on. We are held in prison with similar lawlessness and arbitrariness. The unlawful period we live in is coming to an end with our belief in the democratic and free future that we all deserve."

	Altan noted the following in his message: “As free press employees; We know and see that the struggle of our people with great effort and cost will create a great democratic change and transformation. As part of this struggle, it's almost time for us to meet on free days. I greet everyone with love and respect.”
