
May 1 blockade in Taksim

	ISTANBUL - All streets leading to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street, which were banned on May 1, were closed with iron barriers.

	&nbsp;

	Due to the ban on Taksim in Istanbul, May 1 will be celebrated in Maltepe this year as well. Before the May 1 Unity, Solidarity and Struggle Day, Taksim Square, its surroundings and Gezi Park were closed with an iron barrier. Crossings were prohibited with the police and barriers placed at all street corners leading to Taksim where is the place of the May 1 celebration.

	The Taksim Square is the place, which people want to celebrate the May 1, is blocked by the Turkish State.
