Soldier attack on the office opening event of Green Left Party

	URFA – Soldiers who attacked the election office opening event  of the Green Left Party in Xelfetî detained 7 people.

	 

	The Green Left Party, which started the election, wanted to open an election liaison office in the Gogan neighborhood of Xelefi (Halfeti) district of Riha(Urfa). The crowd, including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki and Dilan Diyet Taşdemir, wanted to dance a halay in front of the office before the event. The soldiers noted that music could not be played, citing the governor's "ban on action and activity". The soldiers attacked with pressurized water as the crowd started to dance the halay. The soldiers detained at least 7 people. In the neighborhood where tensions continue, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz and the accompanying delegation are expected for the opening of the office.
